Reiki is a Japanese holistic, light-touch, energy-based modality. Working as a support mechanism to the body, Reiki re-establishes a normal energy flow of ki (life force energy) throughout the system, which in turn can enhance and accelerate the body's innate healing ability. Through a series of hand positions either directly on or just above the body, the energy worker allows for the flow of energy through their body. The client’s body then draws off the amount of energy that is required.
Reiki sessions leave one feeling relaxed and refreshed. They can be an excellent way to reduce stress, manage pain and restore a much-needed sense of balance to our busy lives.
Ear Candling is a natural method of detox. The pure beeswax candle exudes a soothing warmth while producing a drawing effect. Coupled with a massage of the sinus and lymph areas it is both balancing and relaxing.
Therapeutic Touch, a contemporary interpretation of several ancient healing practices, is a consciously directed process of energy exchange during which practitioners use their hands as a focus for facilitating healing. This technique was first brought to our attention as a modern healing method by Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., R.N. and her colleague, Dora Kunz, in 1972.
Now, with a base of solid and continuing research, Therapeutic Touch is being taught and practiced throughout the world. It is taught at numerous universities and colleges in Canada and the United States. It is being accepted in the policies and procedures of an increasing number of health care institutions worldwide and as a nursing intervention in a number of Ontario hospitals.
TT sessions have been shown to be very effective in changing the client’s perception of pain, reducing anxiety, facilitating the body’s natural healing ability and promoting relaxation.
